Shi Ding Xuan Hotpot Menu - More Shabu Fatty Beef

While scrolling through the offerings on Eatigo, we stumbled upon Shi Ding Xuan, a Hotpot Buffet joint located at Vision Exchange Jurong. As we have not visited any of the outlets at Vision Exchange, we decided to ride on the 50% discount available and check out the offerings there…

There are both outside seatings and indoor seatings at Shi Ding Xuan. Outside, we saw that there was a large TV that allows diners to watch shows or probably evening live soccer matches. Inside, was our preferred choice. Hotpot = sweat = better dine inside, else we’ll be sweating like crazy later. Stepping inside, the restaurant was clean and inviting…

Shi Ding Xuan Hot Pot Menu

Shi Ding Xuan offers both ala carte and buffet options for their hotpot. This time, we went for the buffet. As it was a Saturday, the buffet costs $42.90++ per person. Thankfully, Eatigo helped to half that price. However, do note that there are additional costs on the soup (1-2 soups for $8) and drinks + ice cream ($3 per person) that is quite common these days for decent hotpot joints. Hence, inclusive of the discount, our over damage came up to $63.25 for 2 pax, which is really not too bad.

After we were seated, we were told to scan a QR code and we can start ordering! With the buffet menu, you can order both ingredients for the hotpot as well as cooked dishes from the menu. Here are some of the options available on your buffet at Shi Ding Xuan

In particular, we noticed that the spicy flower crab is limited to 2 per table. It probably means that this is a “high value” item. But with the word “spicy” in front, we didn’t try it this time round as it could be too spicy for our liking. To create our preferred dipping sauce, we’ll always have the seafood base, chili oil, a little bit of cut chilies, garlic, sesame seed, green onions, parsley and a generous amount of sesame sauce, doused with a little sesame oil. Salivating as we’re typing this 😋

Before long, our selection of food arrived…

Shi Ding Xuan Hot Pot Review – What We Liked About Shi Ding Xuang

With regard to the buffet at Shi Ding Xuan Hotpot, we liked several aspects of it.

Firstly, the ingredients for the hotpot were quite delectable. The fish dumplings had a great texture while the hand made mashed shrimp was so taong on each bite. Of course, our favourite was the fatty beef which we could have a couple of plates more – if not for the calories that each plate piles on. This also explains why the fatty beef is the featured image of this post and not Shi Ding Xuan itself 🙄

Secondly, there was a good mix between cooked food and ingredients for the hotpot. We particularly enjoyed the stir-fried beef with cumin. The dish by itself at a sze char stall would easily cost $12. It was tasty and tender, which meant that the chef had controlled the heat pretty well to get this beef cooked just right.

Last but not least, service was prompt and there was no hurry to ask us to end, despite the 90 minutes timing. We were able to leisurely finish our meal and went for 2 rounds of ice cream before we left! 😊

All in all, we enjoyed our dining experience at Shi Ding Xuan Hotpot. If you’ve been to Shi Ding Xuan Hot Pot Buffet as well, let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
