2bearbear at "Pamukkale Swimming Pool" of Outpost Hotel Sentosa

Outpost Hotel Sentosa was where we did our next Singapore Staycation because of a couple of reasons. Firstly, Outpost Hotel is located in the centre of all the major activities in Sentosa. To the west, you’ll have Siloso Beach and to the east, Palawan and Tanjong Beach. Secondly, Outpost Hotel Sentosa has one of the most beautiful swimming pools in Singapore – a mini replica of the Pamukkale (“Cotton Castle”) in Turkey. In this Outpost Hotel Sentosa Review, we’ll share all the amazing amenities at Outpost Sentosa along with all the activities we did during our staycation this time!

Outpost Hotel Sentosa Deluxe Sea View Room Review

After parking at the hotel, we took a lift to level 3 where the reception is

Reception of Outpost Hotel Sentosa Level 3

There, we found out that parking is free for guests staying at the hotel. All you have to do is to retrieve a complimentary parking coupon from the reception before you leave (and remember to remove your cash card on the way out). Secondly, you’ll be brought to a drawer with a selection of snacks – of which, you can choose 5…

Of the 5 snacks we chose, the Kaya Butter Popcorn was excellent. The one who created it is a genius – local flavours in our favourite movie snack. Yum! Thereafter, we were taken to our Deluxe Sea View Room at Outpost Hotel Sentosa

We love the modern decorations of the room. The comfortable king-sized bed, leather sofa, hexagonal backsplash in the bathroom, all brought out the clean, sleek decorations of the deluxe sea view room at Outpost Sentosa. Of course, the views out to Singapore Straits was rejuvenating as well.

After checking out our room, we headed to Sol & Ora – the in-house restaurant of Outpost Hotel Sentosa

Lunch at Sol & Ora Restaurant Outpost Sentosa Hotel

Latin for “The Sun and The Shore”, Sol & Ora is the in-house restaurant of Outpost Sentosa Hotel at level 7. Here is also where you’ll be served breakfast daily. For visitors who are not guests of the hotel, you’ll be able to access level 7 without a key card as Sol & Ora as well as 1-Altitude Coast (both located at level 7), are open to the public.

One of the reason why we visited Sol & Ora is because of the 1-for-1 deals available to Sentosa Islanders. This time, the Sol & Ora Brunch Burger was available for the deal and we decided to give it a try…

Sol & Ora Brunch Burger ($38) Outpost Hotel Sentosa Staycation Review
Sol & Ora Brunch Burger ($38) Outpost Hotel Sentosa Staycation Review

From the description, we found the following ingredients listed for the Sol & Ora Brunch Burger:

Wagyu Beef Patty 220g
Sunny Side Up Egg
Caramelised Onion
Seasonal Fresh Truffle
Bacon
Double Cheddar
Lettuce, Tomatoes, Sesame Buns
Fries

We found the Sol & Ora Brunch Burger to be chock full of ingredients and absolutely delicious. There were actual slices of truffles served with gourmet bread and runny egg that elevated the class of this burger. Of course, the wagyu beef patty was tender, juicy and flavourful. An excellent presentation as well. In all, we paid $45 for two burgers because of the deal and water was complimentary. One of the best part about dining at Sol & Ora is also the views which overlooks the Pamukkale Swimming Pool of Outpost Hotel Sentosa…

The cool part about the swimming pool of Outpost Hotel Sentosa is that it shares the swimming pool with Village Hotel Sentosa, allowing the entire pool premise to be HUGE! There are 4 main pool areas at the level 3 swimming pool and they are

There’s actually a 5th swimming pool that you can use as a guest at Outpost Hotel Sentosa. Located at level 7, is the Sky Pool of Outpost Sentosa. It is actually the swimming pool of 1-Altitude Coast but is free for guests to use from 7am to 6pm daily. Thereafter, to utilise the pool, you’ll have to purchase a drink to continue hanging out there due to sunset and fireworks that you’ll be able to see from the rooftop swimming pool of Outpost Hotel Sentosa…

Around the swimming pool are also hang-out areas such as this social pod

We preferred to chill at the Pamukkale Pool. Nearby, you can find the pool bar as well…

You may also wish to know that there are self-service pool towel venues all around level 3 that looks like this…

While exploring the area, we found that level 3 also provides access to the other hotel areas where you’ll be able to access water and ice-dispensing machine (which is not available at Outpost Hotel Sentosa – though you’ll be able to dial for ice to be brought to your room for free). Otherwise, you’ll be happy to know that the gym, also located at level 3, has a water dispenser within…

The gym at Outpost Hotel Sentosa is actually very well-equipped. You’ll be able to find treadmills, gym balls and free weights that will keep gym bunnies pretty happy. The gym is also located at level 3 of Outpost Sentosa Hotel and you should be looking for a sign that says “gym” but with pretty tinted windows.

Right behind Pamukkale pool, you’ll find some cubicles that are toilets and shower points along with a steam room! This time, we swam from 1:30pm to about 4pm. Chilling out and chatting with fellow guests at the Pamukkale Pool area.

All in all, we were very happy with the swimming pool and gym co-located at level 3 of of Outpost Hotel Sentosa. It makes the entire swimming pool area seem like a huge water play ground. Plus, the infinity pool of Pamukkale, along with its spa pods (and jacuzzi jets), makes it a very nice area to soak in the sun and just chill with gorgeous sea views in the horizon. Possibly the top 5 hotel swimming pools in Singapore!

Dinner at Market Hall Sentosa

After a great time at the swimming pool of Outpost Hotel Sentosa, we returned to our room for showers (which had great temperatures and pressures btw). We also enjoyed the sea views while noticing peacocks roaming the hotel’s premise. We could also see the southern most point of continental asia from our room. Cool. Left at 5pm this time to stroll around.

To access to the beach station beaches, head to level 2 (carpark area) and follow the signs (see above) to visit the other attractions of Sentosa.

Just next door is the Barracks Hotel. There are also dining options here but what stood out for us was the Heritage Building which were beautifully renovated. Today, it houses upscale restaurants such as Miyoshi Fat Cow, Straits Wine Company and a 7-11 which opens from 8am to 11pm. From there, we walked down to Beach Station to take a tram to Tanjung and Siloso Beach.

After alighting, it was a short walk to Market Hall. Market Hall is an open concept food hall that houses several food and dining options such as

Prior to entry to Market Hall, you’ll have to wait to be seated. Thereafter, you’ll have the choice of sitting indoors or outdoors. Of course, we chose the outdoor seatings and here’s why…

There is a nice green synthetic lawn outdoors for kids to run around and for couples and groups to just hang out. Over the waters, you’ll also be able to see one of the most iconic buildings in Singapore – Reflections at Keppel Bay in the distance. As it turned out to be a beautiful evening, outdoor seats were a perfect way to wine and dine this evening. To order, simply use the QR code on the table. The food will be served to you and you can settle the bill before you leave the premise. This time, we also utilise the 1-for-1 deal for craft beers at Glugland. For dinner, we ordered the har cheong karaage ($16), braised beef cheek parpadelle ($24), Random Rules Verdant Brew IPA ($16) and the Miyazaki Chestnut Ale Stout ($17)

Both dishes that we ordered from Market Hall this evening were very decent. The Braised Beef Cheek Parpadelle ($24) was al dente and the beef cheek portion was generous. The Har Cheong Karaage (HCK) was juicy though we would have preferred it to have more Har Cheong on the batter. The surprise for this dish was the achar mayo which was refreshing. The Random Rules Verdant brew IPA was citrusy, just as a hazy IPA should. The Miyazaki Chestnut Ale Stout ($17) on the other hand had the mild sweetness of the chestnut along with the depth of a stout. In total, after discount the bill came up to $67.72.

The other great thing about dining at Market Hall on a perfect evening would be the views during sunset…

During sunset, the entire sky turned orange (depending on the cloud formation) and we immediately dropped our utensils and headed over to the waters to take some memorable photos. As night approached, the staff would go around from table to table to turn on the lamps, providing guests another experience through the night…

Outpost Hotel Sentosa Facilities – Breakfast at Sol & Ora

Before heading over to Sol & Ora (Level 7) for breakfast this morning, we headed over to Tanjong Beach area for a short walk by the beach and enjoy the revamped swings that don’t creek so much anymore. It was relaxing to be able to hear the waves in the morning as they lapped the shores. At about 8:45am, we headed back to Sol & Ora for breakfast…

– Special Sauce
– Fries

while The Seafood Basket included
– Garlic Fried Calamari
– Tempura Battered Prawns
– Crab Sticks
– Dory Filets
– Fries
– Tartar Sauce

Both dishes were actually not too bad. The portion was huge and there were alot of fries. ALOT. The other great thing about chilling at Summerhouse Beach Bar was that you’ll be able to see visitors doing bungy jumps or giant swing from the AJ Hackett Skypark

This time, we made a small little boo boo by taking a dip in the swimming pool next to the AJ Hackett Skypark. Turns out that it is not a pool but a spot that bungy jumpers jump towards. Hence, even though we had asked permission from the servers to enter the pool, the lifeguard waved us to exit the pool so that the bungy jumps could continue. After lunch, we went back to Pamukkale Pool to wind down the afternoon before swimming at the rooftop swimming pool of Outpost Hotel Sentosa

Besides catching unblocked views of the sunset (being one of the tallest buildings around the beach side of Sentosa), we were also able to catch fireworks from from Sentosa’s signature lights and water fountain show – Wings of Time. In the evenings, it was also pretty nice to dip in the pool as it had retained the heat from the day, making the pool nice and warm for night swims.

To round up the evening, we watched Pickers till 1030pm before turning in.

Outpost Hotel Sentosa Facilities – Breakfast at Sol & Ora Day 2

For breakfast on day 2, we tried out the different mains at Sol & Ora – Congee as well as the Kimchi Rice.

After trying out the 4 mains at Outpost Hotel Sentosa’s breakfast menu, we think that the eggs benedict was probably the top option. In terms of portion, we observed that the Sol & Ora breakfast was hearty. Congee was not that tasty while the Kimchi Rice had very dry pork. Nasi Campur had quite alot of side dishes but the downside was that it was not a “Nasi Lemak” – so the rice was plain rice. Nonetheless, coffee was good and its always an enjoyable experience to have meals at Sol & Ora because of the views that it offers from level 7 of Outpost Hotel Sentosa.

After breakfast we caught some Bear Grylls before deciding to leave a little earlier despite being able to check out 1 hour later at 1pm. Since the weather cleared up, we went over to Gin Khao Bistro (via Bus B) to try out the 1-for-1 fried rice. This time, we tried the Olive Fried Rice and Green Curry Fried Rice with seafood (both $15.8) with bubble tea ($5.8). Enroute, we heard pre-school kids speaking perfect English without any grammar mistakes. Perhaps it was the “atas” pre-school or perhaps it was the upbringing. Either way, parents, speak to your kids in proper English to give them a firm foundation to speak English well!

Both fried rice were good and the portion was huge! The Olive Fried Rice had wok hei (smokiness) which was pretty shiok, along with onions and cashew nuts for added texture. The Green Curry Fried Rice on the other hand was a little wet but there were quite a few pieces of fish, 3 mussels and 2 huge prawns – all of which were fresh. Taste wise, the Green Curry was authentic as well. An interesting and great tasting fried rice.

After our meal, we strolled around Quayside Isle a little (an opportunity for us to hang out where the rich hangout 😋)

We were actually surprised to see ALOT of people playing golf at Sentosa Golf Club on a Tuesday afternoon. Either deals are really struck on the golf course or that we have alot of people that don’t really need to work in Singapore? Again, we were at Panamericana to check out the 1-for-1 deal from Sentosa Islander. This time, we tried the cocktails at a very pricey $26++

Panamericana Sentosa Golf Club Cocktails - Lychee Martini and Clarified Punch

The Lychee Martini had the expected taste with a slight sourish bitter twist at the end which was quite interesting. Clarified Punch on the other hand, had tastes of both the dark rum and 3 stars rum with aroma from the freshly peeled orange. Good cocktails but not as what we were expecting at $26++. In fact, we thought that Komyuniti Yotel Singapore’s Cocktails tasted better and had beautiful presentations at a fraction of the price. Nonetheless, the views were amazing on this clear day – all the way out to the islands
