Things to do in Danyang – Chungju Lake Cruise
Chungju Lake is South Korea’s largest lake. It was formed after the completion of Chungju Dam that caused valleys in the area to be submerged in water, resulting in this scenic cruise route. The entire journey from Chungju Dam to Jungho takes about 1.5 hours. This time, we visited the Jungho ferry terminal and enjoyed these amazing views. In the distance, you’ll also be able to see Woraksan creating a beautiful backdrop for the cruise. Though we did not take the cruise, stopping at the ferry terminal itself was thoroughly worthwhile if you’re enroute to Danyang.

Danyang Attractions – Dodamsambong Peak
Dodamsambong Peak is a series of 3 peaks emerging out of the waters at Namhangang River. There’s a little folklore about how the peaks came into existence as well. Nearby, you can ascend a pavilion at the top of a hill and from there, take in panoramic views of the area. If you’re visiting Danyang, be sure to visit this attraction and perhaps take a ride on the jet craft that circles around Dodamsambong Peak!
Danyang Attractions – Enjoying Nature in Danyang City
One of the reasons why we thoroughly adore Danyang is because it is literally surrounded by natural formations. When we arrived in Danyang City, we headed to Kyochon to try out this famous Korean Fried Chicken Franchise. At the same time, right across from where we sat, we were treated to views of Yongbaek falls! Moreover, the green pasture in front of us was the landing strip for para-gliders landing nearby. Hence, we were also treated to frequent landings of these para-gliders. In the evening, we took a stroll along the board walk of the city and were treated to an unforgettable sunset over the mountains. Danyang is certainly blessed to be surrounded by these natural beauties!
Where to stay in Danyang – Daemyung Resort Danyang
In Danyang, the resort that is the most highly sought-after is definitely Daemyung Resort Danyang. Not only is it the best hotel in Danyang, it also houses Aqua World (a water theme park) and offers amazing views of valleys in the vicinity, right from the rooms itself. Our beds were also arranged in a position that faces the views. Hence, while lying in bed, we were treated to the natural beauties offered from Daemyung Resort as well!

Aqua World Daemyung Resort Danyang
If you’re travelling with kids, Aqua World Danyang is a water theme park that kids would definitely love. Inside, you can find water slides for the kids and loads of spa pools for the adults.
