Genting Highlands Outdoor Theme Park

When Singaporeans think about Genting, we usually think about casino, food and shows. But are there really nothing else to do in Genting? In this post, we’ll cover some of the things to do in Genting (besides gambling) that you can try out on your next visit!

What to do in Genting

1. Jungle Trekking

You probably didn’t know you could do jungle trekking in Genting right? Take the opportunity to discover the rainforests, see the brightly-coloured flowers and listen to the song of the birds during this hike. There are also different trails such as Easy Trek (for those accompanied by children or elderly), Nature Trek (for the nature lovers) and the Eco Trek (for those who love hiking).

2. Awana Skyway

The cable car is yet another way to enjoy the scenery at Genting. The Awana Skyway takes you from Awana Station to SkyAvenue Station, ascending 620 meters in height, over a distance of 2.8km in 10 minutes. You’ll be able to park Awana Skyway carpark which can take over 4000 cars for the ride up. Cost of a one way trip is RM8.

3. SnowWorld

SnowWorld is an option for Singaporeans to experience a magical winter wonderland while on a visit to Genting. Tickets cost RM38.30 for Adults and RM32.50 for children/seniors. Jackets, boots and gloves are included in the price of the tickets.

4. Theme Parks

As a child, you could have visited the indoor theme park at Genting (RM32.50 for Adults and RM34.80 for children). To us, the rides at the indoor theme park seems a little dated. However, there’s still hope. A new outdoor theme park (RM38) has opened with over 50 rides available for visitors of all ages. The only catch is that it might get a little chilly, especially if you’re on a high speed roller coaster…

5. Strawberry Farm

Due to the temperate climate and moisture of the highlands, Genting is an optimal place for growing strawberries. At the Genting Strawberry Farm, you’ll be able to learn how strawberries are cultivated and enjoy plucking (and eating) them fresh.

Where to stay in Genting

During our visit to Genting, we visited a French-themed hotel called Colmar Tropicale. Nested on 80 acres of land, the hotel exudes charm from a 16th century Colmar village, complete with the authentic European feel. Other than the Resorts World Genting hotels, Colmar Tropicale is definitely an option you can consider on your trip to Genting.
