The food at Go Noodle House has its roots in traditional Chinese cuisine but its founders, through apprenticeship with street hawkers have helped to evolved its dishes to appeal to locals as well. There are a few signature choices at Go Noodle House such as its Signature Bursting Meatball Mi Xian as well as its soups infused with premium ShaoXing HuaDiao wine. In terms of the ambience, Go Noodle House models its premise after the traditional Chinese eating house concept – complete with square wooden tables, straw wood chairs and walls lined with bottles of rice wine.

First, we tried out the Nonya Curry Supreme Seafood Beehoon (RM 28.80). We have to admit that we didn’t think much about this dish but upon tasting the curry soup, we knew we were in for a treat! This was because the it was not only rich and flavourful but had the right about of spiciness that keeps you coming back for more! We love the bee hoon that soaked up the curry well and yet remained al dente even till the last oodle of bee hoon – definitely a good quality bee hoon chosen by Go Noodle House. Last but more importantly, the ingredients! There was clams, scallops, fish cake, signature meat balls, fried bean curd skin, brinjal and more!

As for the Hakka Sauce Pan Mee with Onsen Egg (RM 14.30), we enjoyed it as with how it resembled a KL Chili Pan Mee, sans the chili. Flavourful and brought together really well by the onsen egg. However, one thing we didn’t like was that the portion was actually pretty small. Add noodles if you’re choosing this option. Thankfully, we also ordered the wanton soup…

We love the wanton soup from Go Noodle House because of its silky smooth wanton skin and also because of the soup itself. It was infused with the premium ShaoXing HuaDiao wine, making you want to keep coming back for another spoonful of the soup!

Totally enjoyed our experience at Go Noodle House at City Square JB. Though it didn’t seem like much and probably appealed more towards a Chinese-styled meal based on its interior decorations, the food served was nothing but. Excellent flavours, amazing soup bases and great noodle textures makes Go Noodle House a must-visit when coming to City Square in Johor Bahru!

What We Had at Go Noodle House (有間麵館) Johor Bahru Paradigm Mall

**Update**

After our first visit to Go Noodle House at City Square JB, we tried out other noodle items at Paradigm Mall’s Go Noodle House. This actually speaks volume about the taste, quality and value-for-money for noodles at Go Noodle House because we don’t usually visit the same joint – especially not in such a short time (of 1 month). Turns out that Go Noodle House has pretty good QC (Quality Control) and it does taste as good at Paradigm Mall’s Go Noodle House as well…

First off, we noticed that the prices at Paradigm Mall is slightly higher than City Square Mall. From the menu, the Curry Supreme was about 1RM more while the Superior Soup Pan Mee was about 0.60RM more. Of course, there is a possibility that there was a price hike that occurred between the 1 month that we visited – this we could not verify.

However, we were still superbly satisfied by the quality and value-for-money of what we ordered at Go Noodle House Paradigm Mall. For instance, when the Curry Supreme All-Time-Favourite was served, it was HUGE. There was alot of ingredients, of the different meat balls. The fu zhou meat ball, cheese meat ball and meat ball within a meat ball meat. This time, we also tried mi xian, instead of the bee hoon and found it to be slurpilicious, much like a nicely infused version of the thick bee hoon used in laksa in Singapore. If you prefer something more al dente, go with bee hoon and for something more “slurpy”, the mixian. Both are great options.

As for the Superior Soup Pan Mee, we found the soup to be very flavourful. You could taste the sweetness of the fish/ikan bilis within the soup. Though there was very little meat. This was also why we ordered the Chinese dumplings in the pickled vegetable soup. Very tasty soup, not too salty and the dumplings were very meaty with robust flavours – the type that we enjoy.

All in all, it was another nice visit to Go Noodle House. As usual, we came out pretty full (which is an understatement) and satisfied. If you’re in Paradigm Mall or City Square Mall JB and not really sure what to eat, give Go Noodle House a try!
