What does the hashtag #dykJ mean?

First of all, you’ll notice that the “J” is in capital in this #hashtag. This is because the J refers to Jesus. In fact, there are a couple of levels of understanding #dykJ.

1. #dykJ Meaning #1 – Do You Know (about) Jesus?

The first meaning of #dykJ refers to whether you know about this person, known as Jesus. We know that historically, besides the bible, there have been many references and letters (especially by Romans) written about this person called Jesus who walked on earth over 2000 years ago.

Have you heard about him? That is the first meaning of #dykJ.

2. #dykJ Meaning #2 – Do You Know Jesus (as your personal Saviour)?

However, to Christians, Jesus is not only a person. He is also the Son of God. In John 3:16-17, it is written:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

From this verse, we know that God loves each and everyone of us. In fact, He loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son, Jesus to walk on this earth and to redeem us, through salvation on the cross. We also know that Jesus rose victorious over the grave on the 3rd day and is now with us, through the presence of the Holy Spirit. He also said in Matthew 11:28-30

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

That if you come to Jesus, you will find rest, in whatever situation that you’re going through. So if you’re looking for whoever is governing the entire system of the world. Look no further. He is Jesus.

Have you received Christ as your personal Saviour? That is the second meaning of #dykJ.

3. #dykJ Meaning #3 – Do You (share what you) Know (about) Jesus?

For Christians, you’d probably know about the Great Commission in Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

and about the end times as written in Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

If we truly care about someone around us, share the Good News of the Gospel with them. That is the third meaning of #dykJ.

A Blessed 2020 to one and all!
