Remember that if you can, follow a Malaysian car when you enter into Johor customs and follow a Singaporean car when you enter Singapore. We were able to park our car at Menara Landmark Johor Bahru which shares the same carpark as DoubleTree Hilton JB where parking is complimentary. The carpark has a separate lift from the hotel and from the level 1 of the carpark, you’ll be able to the lobby of DoubleTree Hilton Johor. Check-in was a breeze and we were informed that parking is complimentary at DoubleTree Hilton Johor Bahru as well. You just need to head over to the lobby to grab a parking coupon before you exit. At check-in, we also received the signature chocolate chip cookies from Hilton DoubleTree JB…

As we were still a little too early for check-in at 3pm, we headed over to City Square Mall JB to grab some lunch, watch a movie and enjoy a foot massage as well. We really loved the views from our Deluxe King Room at high floors of DoubleTree Hilton JB. Unblocked with views out to the Johor Straits as well. Within the room, there were coffee/tea amenities as well as a pretty well-equipped toilet/shower amenities. The Executive Club Lounge of DoubleTree Hilton Johor Bahru was exquisite. It was spacious with amazing views over Johor Bahru. We love the ambience which exuded a class with comfortable grey hues and wooden finishes. The All Day Refreshments included coffee, tea, water and soft drinks along with a selection of cakes and snacks. A nice place to stop by and freshen up before your next programme for the day. For us, it was time to watch the movie – Elemental.
Elemental is a movie about a fire element family that left their homeland and arrived in the water element city. They found that the conditions of the water element city was not suited towards their element and carved a fire element neighbourhood within. The daughter of the fire element later fell in love with a guy from the water element and you know the rest – there’s a disaster that they have to avoid together and they fell in love, in the end getting support from both fire and water element families. The movie sort of reflects the plight of immigrants to a new country. Good to expose kids to be sensitive to such issues at a young age.

After Elemental movie at City Square Johor Bahru Cinema, we returned to the Executive Lounge of DoubleTree Hilton JB to enjoy the evening cocktails from 6pm to 8pm daily…
For the Beverage Menu at Executive Lounge Cocktails Hours of DoubleTree Hilton JB, the following alcoholic selection were available:
– Wines (Red/White from Luis Felipe)
– Beers (Carlsberg / Tiger)
– Cocktails (Screwdriver, Cuba Libre, Highball and Gin Tonic)
The selection was rather limited though still decent. As for the food, we didn’t really like the noodles this evening but the beef that accompanied it was not too bad. Spring Rolls (because it was deep fried) complemented the drinks rather well. This time, we also met a church friend and her family at the Executive Lounge this evening. Such a coincidence!

Most of the facilities of DoubleTree Hilton JB were located at level 13. Here, you’ll be able to find the outdoor swimming pool, Tosca Italian Trattoria Restaurant with outdoor patio seatings, gym as well as a jacuzzi within the changing rooms with views over Johor Bahru…
We actually did swim in the outdoor pool at level 13 of DoubleTree Hilton JB but it was pretty cold. Though with some homeostasis, it was pretty much ok. There was also a pretty well-equipped gym with views of the swimming pool. But what actually surprised us was the indoor jacuzzi within the changing rooms located on the same level. You’ll have to walk pass the lift lobby to the changing room side and the jacuzzi here actually has views of JB city while you soak it in. We also found that there’s complimentary shuttle bus services from DoubleTree Hilton JB to Mid Valley Southkey and Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) on Fridays and Saturdays…

We enjoyed several options offered at breakfast including the chicken feet (so tender), hakka yong tau foo (tasty and flavourful) as well as the Nasi Lemak which had all the different sambals available for you to pick and choose. Delicious.
After breakfast at level 1, we also headed back to the executive lounge at level 29 for some coffee…
As expected, the breakfast selection at DoubleTree Hilton JB’s Executive Lounge was not as extensive as breakfast at Makan Kitchen. However, you’ll be able to enjoy service as well as some amazing views of Johor Bahru while having pastries and coffee.

This time, we caught Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny which was pretty good – keeping us on the edge of our seats. Plus, it had a theme of time travel that Tom enjoys. All in all, we had an enjoyable time at DoubleTree Hilton Johor Bahru, experiencing the Executive Club Lounge services throughout the day.
