Crystal Jade Go (翡翠点) Review: Priority Pass’ latest addition at Changi Airport Terminal 4!

Crystal Jade Go (翡翠点) Changi Airport Terminal 4 Review

Crystal Jade Go is actually another venue that you can visit as a Priority Pass holder to Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 4. Previously, the only available option was Blossom Lounge – which is a pretty good budget terminal airport lounge. But thanks to Priority Pass’ constant review of their offerings, Crystal Jade Go is now added to the mix and we had a pretty good meal this morning at Crystal Jade Go Terminal 4 (Singapore Changi Airport)!

About Crystal Jade Go (翡翠点) Changi Airport Terminal 4

Crystal Jade Go is Crystal Jade’s “fast food” branch, offering diners the authentic Hong Kong cuisine while making it quick, tasty and affordable.

As you can see from the menu of Crystal Jade Go, it offers a tone-down version of what is usually offered at the full-fledge Crystal Jade while maintaining its authentic Hong Kong cuisine identity. This means that you’ll still be able to get dim sum, roasts and wanton noodle – the staple of a Hong Kong dining experience.

We also found the internal decor of Crystal Jade Go to be casual and welcoming. Definitely has a modern feel to it. Though not as “posh” as the original Crystal Jade, it does have similar elements in terms of colours and contours while making it inviting for the typical “dine-and-dash” diners at the airport transit area.

OPENING HOURS
07:00 – 23:00 daily

LOCATION
Singapore Changi Intl, Terminal 4
Airside – the restaurant is located Level 2, Departure Transit Area South, Unit No. 02-41.

In the description of Crystal Jade Go on the Priority Pass Website, we also noticed this caveat:

Note: For Cardholders who pay for individual visits or guest visits, please check this particular offer against your visit fee to ensure it represents value for you. We advise Cardholders to review full Conditions of access below before visiting.”

As we’ve mentioned at the start, Crystal Jade Go is not really a lounge. It is a dining venue with a pre-selected menu – with 3 choices which we will share further below. The main point of this caveat is that it may not represent value if you have a limited number of priority passes. However, if you would like to have a quality meal before departure or that you simply have unlimited Priority Passes due with Citi Prestige, Crystal Jade Go could be a good venue to visit.

As mentioned earlier, Priority Pass has curated a selection of 3 options for visitors to Crystal Jade Go:

Combo 1:
Roasted Duck Rice: Traditional Sauce, Fragrant White Rice

Steamed Siew Mai with Fish Roe or Steamed Har Kau
Signature Hong Kong Milk Tea (Hot/Cold) or Lemongrass Jelly with Plum

Combo 2:
Shrimp Wanton Noodle (Dry/Soup)

Steamed Siew Mai with Fish Roe or Steamed Har Kau
Signature Hong Kong Milk Tea (Hot/Cold) or Lemongrass Jelly with Plum

Combo 3:
Lean Meat Century Egg Congee

Steamed Siew Mai with Fish Roe or Steamed Har Kau
Signature Hong Kong Milk Tea (Hot/Cold) or Lemongrass Jelly with Plum

As we visited Crystal Jade at 7:30am in the morning, the roasted duck rice is not available (only available from 9am onwards). Hence, we tried out the other 2 mains as well as all the dim sum and “dessert options”.

So how does the menu really taste? Let’s find out!

What We Had at Crystal Jade Go (翡翠点) with Priority Pass Menu

Let’s start with the mains…

Combo 2: Shrimp Wanton Noodle (Dry/Soup)

This time, we chose the dry version of the Shrimp Wanton Noodle at Crystal Jade Go. There are a couple of things that we loved about this dish. Firstly, the shrimp wanton was superb. The shrimp within was succulent and tasty while the outer wanton layer was able to hold the plump, chunky fillings together. The noodles was also not too yeasty which was great for us. The texture was the typical slightly “crunchy” version that we enjoy as well. The only downside of this dish, in fact of the entire meal, was that the gravy was a little too salty. This was also why we dipped into the soup that accompanied it instead – making it kind of like a Tsukemen. Perhaps we should have gone with the soup version instead? 🤔

Combo 3: Lean Meat Century Egg Congee

We really enjoyed the Lean Meat Century Egg Congee. It has been simmered overtime to achieve the creamy texture that is now synonymous with the Hong Kong version of the congee. In addition, there were LOADS of ingredients within! You can find quite a substantial portion of shredded chicken as well as century egg which tasted pretty good. The you tiao (fried dough fritters) also absorbed the moisture and taste from the congee – exactly how you tiao in porridge ought to be.

Dim Sum Options

As for the dim sum options of Steamed Siew Mai with Fish Roe and Steamed Har Kau, they were both excellent as well. Especially the Har Kau. They were fresh and beautifully held together by its skin – unlike many that we’ve tried with “broken skins”. Moreover, the Har Kau was also drizzled over with a fragrant concoction of sesame oil and soy sauce. Not conventional. But elevated the taste altogether. Havent had such a good Har Kau in a while. As for the Siew Mai, it was moist and we could taste the marinated fillings within. Yum!

The Signature Hong Kong Milk Tea was rich and not so sweet. Yet, the taste was well-balanced because even after pouring it over ice, the taste was just as good. As for the Lemongrass Jelly, it reminded us of the osmanthus jelly – perhaps not as fragrant but definitely love the texture as well as the fact that its not that sweet as well. The plum powder does enhance the overall taste as well.

Conclusion

All in all, we love it that Priority Pass has added Crystal Jade Go to its offerings at Changi Airport – especially at Terminal 4 where there was Blossom Lounge as its only lounge. Of course, Crystal Jade Go is not a lounge and does not offer alcoholic options. However, if you’re thinking of having a quality meal and have unlimited access to Priority Pass lounges, then Crystal Jade Go is an obvious choice when you travel from Changi Airport’s Terminal 4!
