Favehotel Kuta was our first hotel for the night when we landed in Bali after our trip to Brisbane. As we were to arrive at our room past 9pm, we wanted to have an affordable room, a short drive from the airport, yet close to our next hotel at Mercure Kuta Bali. The answer? Favehotel Kuta Bali!

Favehotel Kuta Bali Superior Room

Checking into the hotel was quite straightforward. Our reservation was quickly found but the only thing which was queer, was that we had to fill up our particulars ourselves. During check-in, we were asked to scan a QR code and upload our own passport information – a role that is usually done by the reception; now outsourced to guests
As for the room, it wasn’t at a tip top condition. However, at $50SGD a night, we were not having high expectations. We could see that the room was pretty well used with chipped walls and door hinges. Nonetheless (and perhaps most importantly), it was clean! The air-conditioned worked well and cable TV was actually clear. There was complimentary water as well. As for the water pressure of the shower, it was not the best but hot water was readily available. Overall, it was a comfortable room at an affordable price.
Next, to check out the facilities at Favehotel Kuta Bali…
Favehotel Kuta Bali Facilities Rooftop Swimming Pool

Although Favehotel Kuta Bali is very reasonably affordable hotel, it does come with an exceptional rooftop swimming pool. If you head up to rooftop level, you’ll find a really tranquil and relaxing vibe. Greenery, a luscious frangipani tree with sea views in the distance. Unreal. There’s also a stairs that lead to a higher platform known as the “Sunset Bridge”. Probably where you’ll have amazing views at sunset. You can see our top-down view of the rooftop swimming pool as well as the sea views from the “Sunset Bridge”. Beautiful.
Favehotel Kuta Bali Facilities Impala 60’s Restaurant

At the first level of Favehotel Kuta Bali, you’ll find Impala 60’s – the in-house restaurant of Favehotel Bali. We love the vibe of the Impala 60’s restaurant as well. The interior decoration is young and trendy with modern “antiqued” furniture used. This is also where you’ll be able to find your daily buffet breakfast. As we didn’t have breakfast with our room, we had our coffees while watching commentaries on the Harris vs Trump debate this morning. There was a deal going on, so each coffee was only 25k or (~$2SGD). This time we ordered a latte and a long black which were actually quite good.
Favehotel Kuta Bali Facilities Herbal Spa

There is actually a spa known as Herbal Spa within Favehotel Kuta Bali. For in-house guests, you’ll be able to get a discounted price of 350K for 2 pax to do a 1 hour traditional massage (compared to the usual price of 250k per person). With the discounted price, that works out to about $30 SGD. Despite the rather affordable price, the massage was actually EXCELLENT! Our masseuse addressed our knots in the calf and shoulders, relaxing us completely. The cool air-conditioning as well as the soothing balinese music enhanced the overall experience.
A surprising find and highly recommended – even if you’re not staying at Favehotel Kuta Bali! The only catch is that you’d have to make reservations. Otherwise, even though it is stated that they would open at 11am, there was no masseuse until 1pm really. So, make a reservation to avoid disappointment!

All in all, we were pleasantly surprised by the offerings at Favehotel Kuta Bali! At an affordable price of $50 SGD, we got a decent room at a decent location (minutes away from Discovery Mall Bali) and it even comes with a great rooftop swimming pool! The coffees at its in-house restaurant was great and the massage was the biggest find. Excellent and professional massage at affordable prices as well. If you’re looking for a no-frills hotel in the Kuta area in Bali in the future, do consider Favehotel Kuta Bali!
