This time, our Singapore Travel Series takes us to Pasir Ris where we visited the Pasir Ris Park, Downtown East and Pasir Ris Town Park!

Things to do at Pasir Ris Park
We started our Singapore Travel Series this day at Pasir Ris Park…
The walk at Pasir Ris Park was rather enjoyable. The paths were well laid out with plenty of shade provided by the trees within the park. As we ventured closer to sea, we passed by a beautiful promenade of Pasir Ris Park which gently transited to the clear blue seas with views of Pulau Ubin…
After walking along the shores for a while to take in the sea breeze, we headed over to the maze of Pasir Ris Park. Apparently, its not too difficult to find your way out of this maze. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the plants and branches within the maze were not trimmed, blocking out several paths within the maze. Hence, we back-tracked and headed over to Downtown East instead 😅

Following the directional signs, it was not long before we arrived at Downtown East. As with all shopping malls these days, you’d have to use Safe Entry to enter malls itself. From there, we were able to have an overview of Wild Wild Wet…
From our vantage point, we were glad to see families enjoying Wild Wild Wet, despite the pandemic. The view of “Torpedo” ride, reminded us of our visit to Wild Wild Wet years back and also the “Leap of Faith” at Aquaventure Atlantis Dubai. Special thanks to our front line workers once again! Hopefully 2021 will bring about more good news of vaccines and recovery in the travel industry!
Before heading over to Pasir Ris Town Park, we walked past the history of Downtown East. Downtown East was started because the leaders at that time believed that leisure and recreational facilities should not only be available to the rich, but also to the masses as well. This started NTUC’s foray into providing a great recreational destination for Singaporeans!

Our trip to Pasir Ris ended at Pasir Ris Town Park – a place to chill, fish and enjoy views of the body of water at Pasir Ris…
This time, we headed over to the Foodfare at Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre. It also is known by its nickname, Fareground. The Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre is unlike many other hawker centres because of the trendy/quirky design as well as the views over the Pasir Ris Fishing Pond. Lastly, there are several great food stalls here including Lukhon Thai, Spicy Ma La Hotpot and Wild Olives (Western). This time, we visited Prawnaholic 虾的传人 as well as Daburu Hot Plate western food…
One of the reasons that we went with western at Daburu was because of the long queue at Wild Olives. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the hot plate where the grilled chicken was done perfect with nice crisp texture on the skin. If you have tried Wild Olives, do let us know more in the comments section below. One stall we would recommend is Prawnaholic 虾的传人 Prawn Noodles. The soup was rich, flavourful and packed with umami goodness. The dry version with onsen egg was a nice east-meets-west combination. But with the amazing soup, we’d probably try the soup version on our next visit.
Remember to head to level 2 to snag some seats with great views overlooking the Pasir Ris Pond! 🙂
Pasir Ris Town Park D’best Fishing Pond
After our hearty meal, we headed to the Pasir Ris Town Park Fishing Pond to walk off the calories. Again, despite the ongoing pandemic, there were many people fishing here as well. Of course, safe distancing was observed with several spots closed off to ensure that.
The walk around the pond took about 10 minutes. A nice little walk where we passed by the Della Suantio Police Coast Guard Patrol Vessel. In fact, this site was launched as the “Nexus Youth Hub” by President Halimah Yacob in 2019 – a platform where youths can connect and engage in activities, contributing to local communities.
